Hi folks,

I researched for a while and just decided on the Hein Gerike cargo overpants. Problem is they are not available anymore...anywhere, so on goes the search. I ride mostly in temps 50 degrees F and warmer, and not (intentionally) in the rain. So I'm looking for pants that I can wear over my jeans, aren't too heavy or baggy, have CE armor in the knees, (at least) have a removeable inner liner for the warmer weather. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks, but I didn't want jeans, I wanted overpants that I could remove when I got to work or whatever. I've seen some Tourmasters and some MotoGP's that were sorta OK, but most folks say they are way too warm for the summer.

I have the FirstGear HT overpant.  Maybe not the most protection you can get, but a lot better than jeans.  They have full side zippers, so they're very easy to get into and out of over your pants and boots.  They'll get a little warm in summer over long pants, but that's your tradeoff for protection.  You could vent them by partly unzipping the pants down from the top, but of course that would leave you more vulnerable in the event of a crash.  They seem to run large - I usually take a  32-inch waist for my pants, and my HTs are a size 30, and easily fit over jeans or dress slacks.
