Okay, so yesterday it was extremely unseasonably warm here in New York. It was 62 degress to be exact ! It was great, myself and 8 other buddies all got together and went screaming all over the city. We definately painted the town red. At one point I was following my buddy who's got a sick hayabusa with a custom orange paint job (beautiful bike !). Anyway, he decided to take a sharp right turn when i wasnt expecting it. I hammered on the brakes just before entering the turn. As I leaned into the turn I was still a little too hot to make it so I banged on the rear brake. This was only my third time riding this bike ('04 CBR 600rr) due to crappy winter weather. After banging on the rear brake it clanked about 5 times, click-click-click. It sounded and felt just like an ABS system. Does my bike have an ABS system or is something not right? Like i said I have limited expereince on this bike so far, due to inability to ride much because of the weather. Am I crazy ? Does my bike have ABS ? Is something loose/busted ? Help !?

You definitely don't have ABS on the RR. Did you try to duplicate what happened? Maybe rear wheel lock & hop? I very seldom use rear brake. Rich

XLSR954 is right, you do not have an ABS system. You might have created a little bit of wheel hop but very unlikely. Not sure that there is anything wrong with your bike. I would check the tension on your chain. If it is really loose it could of smacked on the swing arm. Learn to use your front brake more than anything or a smooth combination of the front and rear brake. Plus, try to give yourself plenty of room from your buddies to brake and turn. QuiK

It really didn't feel like tire lock & hop. It sounded like clanking. Since you mentioned the chain I do recall it sounding like the chain. I'm not sure, it was a weird situation I was in. I have tried jamming on the rear brake but I can't reproduce what happened. Thanks for your help guys and I will definately check that chain out.
