Looks very nice... I had heard the 03RR fit as well, so I am curious to know how well everything lined up for you. Keep us posted because I for one want to do the same thing...

Paint - I'm not really planning on painting it anytime soon. I don't have the time or money. The tank matches the tail pretty well. I've taken a bunch of pictures and I might do a tutorial write-up.

Before I got the bike, it was already set up for racing and had no passenger pegs. I'm gonna leave it like that. However, the tail doesn't seem to cover the passenger peg mounts. In fact, my muffler hanger hooks up to the right side passenger peg mount, and it fits just fine. As for fender: I removed the stock rear fender. I thought it was ugly, but it wouldn't interfere with the new tail if I left it on. I made an undertail out of 1/8" ABS plastic. I used a propane torch to heat and stretch it to make a wheel well in it to get enough clearance. I also made a chain guard out of the same plastic. It's the same plastic that I used to make the side covers. It was $15 for a 4' x 4' sheet.

Thats going to look really cool! Where did you get the RR tial ? I am going to do the 01-03 tail swap to my 06 F4i . (inspired by Champf4i). I have only been able to find aftermarket on e-bay. Are they as good?

Haha. Thanks. The rearstand was about $25 at Home Depot. I still need to make the brackets for it. I got the tail from the classifieds section of this forum for $60 shipped. The taillight was another $15, also shipped. I don't know if aftermarket fairings are as good as stock. I would assume so, but I have heard of some problems with fitment of aftermarket plastics. However, if you have to custom fit it to a Hurricane anyway, it shouldn't make much of a difference.
