zrad -> Wiring question+pic (12/30/2006 1:38:59 PM)

Looks like someone cut something out of harness from under the seat. It looks like something was removed. See attached pic. Also where do the 3 yellow wires from the stator cover go? they were cut too. Can someone pleases shed some light on this for me? Thanks. Its a 2000 if that makes a difference

Do you have the manual?

zrad -> RE: Wiring question+pic (12/30/2006 2:48:39 PM)

I have the manual in pdf  and can't find a color coded diagram in it. Thanks for the reply.

do you have more pictures?  I need more to see what I'm looking at

zrad -> RE: Wiring question+pic (12/30/2006 6:00:22 PM)

There is a better pic. I now noticed some more cut yellow wires(3) hidden by  the rubber grommet. Also where do the wires go out of the stator cover?

sixs929 -> RE: Wiring question+pic (12/30/2006 10:52:41 PM)

The three yellow wires should be from the stator itself. They go to the regulator/rectifier. I take it this bike isn't running too well...?[8|]

zrad -> RE: Wiring question+pic (12/31/2006 12:38:45 AM)

The 3 stator wires have been cut. Also 3 other yellow wires under the grommet in the second pic have been cut also. I havent got the bike running yet. It was bought with a salvage  title as a project. I'm just wondering what was stolen/taken off it while it sat @ the auction house. seems to be missing a few things. I do have it turning over.

crazy900rr -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/2/2007 3:48:58 AM)

+1 on the regulator rectifier (3 yellow wires) you should have a box thats bolted to the side of the subframe thats roughly 4inx3in and has fins all over it. if that is missing, they took that frome the bike before you bought it.  It will still crank, but you might want to get one of those, and repair/replace the harness.  If you figure out what you need, I have an extra harness and an extra rectifier.

CROMAG -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/5/2007 10:36:02 AM)

I'd be suprised if they did not take the stator as well, why not it's quik and expensive... Better check and make sure.

zrad -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/5/2007 3:45:39 PM)

The rectifier is still there. Would the 3 wires from the stator connect to the 3 wires coming from the rectifier. The other wires cut as seen in previous pic connect maybe to a pc3 that was removed? I will check if the stator is still in place. I would say it probably is because the wires are there. I'm hoping anyway.

crazy900rr -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/6/2007 12:32:48 AM)

ok, looks like you got lucky sort of, I just looked at the pictures again, the red and green wires are also part of the harness that hooks to the regulator rectifier. you never got back with me on weather or not the rectifier had the plugs still on it. There should be two plugs, one with yellow wires and one with 2 red and 2 green. When I looked at my stunt bike I got confused because whoever had it before me also cut the plugs to the yellow wires and wired them straight together. My stator is now part of the main harness, go figure. Often when the rectifier goes bad it will melt the connectors together, thus creating the need for someone to cut your harness.  If it turns out that all you need is the plug, I'll cut my spare harness up and send it to you, just send my like $15 for shipping. I'll make sure you have enough wire on it so you can splice it back together.

crazy900rr -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/6/2007 12:34:23 AM)

If your regulator rectifier is cut let me know, I have an extra one of those also, but you'll be SOL if they cut the end off of you stator, I cant help you there.

zrad -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/6/2007 1:14:04 AM)

I will need the plug for the cut rect. wires. Where does this plug connect? If its possible that the rect. is bad maybe I'll try to find a new one. Is that plug supposed to connect up to the 3 stator wires that where also cut? I'm still hoping  you or some one else can identify the group of 5 other wires in first pic that where also hacked that says "cut" that is beside the ecu?

crazy900rr -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/6/2007 1:33:26 AM)

lets try this again, there are supposed to be 2 plugs on the reg.rect. one plug conatins all of the yellow wires, that plugs into the stator plug which also has yellow wires.
The other plug on the rectifier contains the green and red wires, it plugs into a spot on the harness thats about 4 inches back from the black ecu/cdi (computer) plug.

Does the rectifier have both plugs? Does your stator have a plug? I can tell that you are missing the plug on the harness that contains the red and green wires. I have that one so you're good there, if your recrifier is missing one or both of the plugs I have that also. I know what you are supposed to have but I do not know what you actually have.

rectifier 2 plugs
stator 1 plug
harness 1 plug (we know thats missing/ and I have one)

zrad -> RE: Wiring question+pic (1/6/2007 1:56:42 AM)

Ok, Rect yellow plug is cut off, red/grn on rect is there. What your saying is that  the red grn rect plug is supposed to plug into the cut out plug shown in first pic on the harness (6 wires, 2 look to be red, 2 grn and cant tell the others) ? Stator plug is also cut off. If you have the yellow rect plug and the missing plug from the harness I will gladly send you some money for shipping, to send me these plugs. What would you like for the whole harness? has it been cut up before? Can you elaborate on how joining the 3 yellow rectifier wires will get it working again? What would you do with the stator wires in this situation? So there is a chance my rect is screwed for someone to do this? At any rate I need these plugs. Thankyou for the help, Dan
