Is it just me or do the Honda Service manuals suck? I have the Honda manual for my 1990 CBR 1000F and it stinks compared to other manuals I've had. It seems to be just the bare minimum if even that to take something apart. Works OK for the exploded diagram, but just when you get into a detailed part the manual says to go to the Common Manual. ARRGGHHHHH. Try and find out how to service the speedo cable in the manual. Not a mention.

I also have the Haynes manual. Most times I have to use both manuals to get something done. The Suzuki manual for my 1979 GS1000 is terrific. Hundreds of photographs and detailed descriptions on how to take things apart, test them, and put them together. I mentioned this to the service manager at my local Honda dealer and he told me that the manuals for the newer bikes are better. Are they?
