I drive slower without gear because you feel every little piece of road debris hitting you in the chest, and a rock or sandblast on your nipple at 95 hurts like a mofo

I work on the phone and read this and almost laughed out loud ob the phone

Since I didn't get negative feedback on the Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket.... I decided on that one. It's great. It's designed to be an all year jacket. All of the panels zip off taking it down to just a mesh jacket with arm, elbow and back plate (which are removable for cleaning). Zip the panels back on and you have the spring/fall jacket. It also has a zip in rain/wind proof liner, so all I have to do is wear a heavy shirt under it for the days that we hit below zero. I know a lot of people think winter riding is stupid, but as long as there isn't ice on the road... why not?

Hey Don. I agree! As long as there is no ice or debris on the road, I'll be out there with you. I can't imagine packing my baby on ice for the winter. And yes, wearing protective gear the whole time.

I always wear gear when I ride. Well I did ground my jacket opting only to a T-shirt once with all my other gear but I was to paranoid that I didn't really enjoy the ride because I usually ride pretty aggressive, safe mind you but aggressive.

Below is what I always wear. The lists differ based on temps. As you can see I like Alpinestars. I want to buy a full set of leathers but right now spending over a grand on them is not financially smart for me. I still have to buy my wife a leather jacket and warmer gloves for the cooler weather and the jacket she wants is the $365 Pink Alpinestars Corset Pink jacket.

Warm/Hot
Black Alpinestars Air-Flo Jacket (Great air flow when I am moving forward!)
Black Shoei RF-1000 Helmet
Black Alpinestars Alloy Gloves
Black Alpinestars S-MX 3 Boots or Black Icon Motorhead Boots
Icon Recon Jeans or regular Jeans when they aren't clean

Winter Same as above but
Red Alpinestars One-O-One Leather Jacket
Red Alpinestars SP-2 Gloves (Actually I have not bought them yet but I think for the price they are the best Alpinestars offers for long wrist covered gloves)

If I am poking around town I wear the JR phoenix jacket and gloves. Jeans and JR GPX boots. When I am on club rides I have on a full JR GPX leathers with boots and JR speed master gloves
