Ok so here is the deal, I have a (2001 929rr) about a week now and love it. It rides just great. Now here is my problem, say im riding along at 65 in 6th gear and go to snap the throttle on. The bike doesn’t jump off but instead the bike wraps up to like 10 or 11 like i just pulled the clutch in. It doesn't hit the rev limiter but slowly accelerates forward and starts to apply power gradually, with the motor still wrapped up. I have only had the bike a week and had not snapped the throttle on till last night. If I role it on it pulls just fine, if I give it more gas then it wants it starts to rev. It does this in every gear across the board but like I said rides just fine the rest of the time. Its only under rapid throttle does it rev like this. The only think I can thing is that the clutch is not disengaging all the way and causing the bike to rev. If that was the case I think that I would see this all the time correct?? Any help or ideas you have would be great I think I am going to take it into Honda tomm and see what they say.

Congratulations!! You need new clutch fibers. Might as well get some new springs while your at it. The steels should be o.k. -- just rough them up with some 220 grit sandpaper (make sure all grit is completely wiped off).

Do not forget to get a new clutch cover gasket from the dealer as well..plus you will doing an oil change also. Would be a good idea to change the oil filter as well....remember to soak the new plates in oil before you install it so they have a chance to swell before installation...It is a basic job that you can do without too many tools, just pay attention to how they come out ( fiber/steel/fiber/steel ect...)
