ORIGINAL: Sproutf3 What parts did you need to do that? just the subframe, seats, and the rear fairing piece? Everything you need to do the swap is (all from '01-'03): - subframe - tail plastic - both seats - taillight - passenger pegs - battery tray AND battery cover (<-- important for ECM mounting) - starter relay rubber mounting case - trunk release cable - trunk lock cylinder mounting hardware - ECU rubber mounting case - 2 rubber "U" bands (basically a rubber strap). One goes in the trunk to hold your stuff, the other goes over the ECM to hold it down (<-- important!!) - 2 front tail fairing mounting screws - 2 rear upper tail fairing mounting pegs (screws, but they stick out) and washers - 2 taillight nuts and washers (make sure the subframe has the rubber grommets in it) - 2 wire harness loom hooks for rear harness - decals, if you so desire That's about it! The wiring harnesses were differ

ORIGINAL: Jhamblett Wow man that looks great, How much did the whole thing end up costing. My girlfriend loves to ride and i was thinking of doing the opposite swap( i know i am going to hear it from everyone) but i really dont care how the seat looks. I just love to ride and love the F4i. Let me know if you have the parts i need. Thanks Total I think it ended up being around $600 or so... not all too bad, I guess. That includes getting the new tail painted and everything. If you want to do the swap to the banana seat, I've got all my old parts still, if you'd be interested in buying them shoot me a PM and we can work something out. I've got 2 different tail sections, both have minor damage but either would work. I can get pics of everything if you'd like. I might not have the taillight anymore... gotta check and see. For doing the split seat to banana swap though you might need to buy a wiring harness for the '04+, since the ECU is far back in the tail instead of on top of the battery, I don't think the '01-'03 harness would reach the ECU in the back. Other than that though I've got most everything else and I've got no use for it anymore, let me know!

ORIGINAL: c0ldf1ame hey what kind of undertail is that? No undertail, just the stock battery tray. I chopped most of the fender off with the dremel, just left enough for the license plate and stuff to hang on. I do have a fender eliminator but didn't put it on, as I would have to cut into my trunk area and I really don't want to do that Thanks again for the additional compliments!! I'm still loving it! Might clean her up real nice and go out today and get some good pics

Hi, I was wondering where you got your decals and undertail. Also, do you know how much of the hardware (bolts and such) from the 2004 subframe fit onto the split seat subframe? Thanks.

looks awesome man good job does it change how you sit on the bike? do you feel like you have a more agressive lean or still sitting pretty straight up?

Thanks again for the compliments!! I don't think it really changed the riding position... still pretty upright for the most part. It does however, make it much easier to slide around on the seat. That's half the reason I wanted to do the swap. That sliding can go both ways though.... I've gotta thrown back a few times too. This one time passing a super slow moving truck, had it in 2nd gear about 7000 rpm, punched it hard and I slid straight back, hahaha. My ass bone rammed into the plastic whoin front of the pillion seat, and damn that hurt a lil while later! I still love it!! No regrets whatsoever with this swap
