I currently have the stock fender on right now, but yesterday i was working on the fender to try and make it look shorter. I had originally cut a good portion of it off and it looked alright, but yesterday i got cutting happy. Well i ended up cutting my fender too high to the point where i couldnt put my liscense plate back on. Man was i pissed. i tried ghetto rigging it with like a different assortment of screws and what not, but no matter how i do it, it still looks messed up. I was looking online and came accross this really nice looking competition werks fender eliminator kit for my bike. Its the one that is like sheet metal and uses the stock tailight assembly. Think its worth buying at this point? or should i just drill the liscense plate back on and wait awhile? thanks guys

Oh and also, if anybody has installed the fender eliminator on their bike, how hard is it to do?

That CW kit is awesome, but it is pretty labor intensive since it requires dealing with the seat lock..but it looks grreat when done!!

Fork over the cash and get an undertail... saves a lot of trouble and looks x1988193 times better than a Fender Elimanator

I gotta agree with afshooter. Just get an undertail, looks mucho better. I've seen them on ebay for about $150.

I posted a tutorial in the DIY section for doing an electronic trunk release if you need that after you lose the key with the undertail or eliminator.

I cut 90% of mine off with a hacksaw. It ends about 1/2" below the red reflector that is next to the lock. I sanded it down smooth and it looks nice, and then I mounted the plate underneath. There is a small lip of thick black pastic about 5 inches in from the rearl

I drilled two holes into the plastic and used the plate screws with the round red reflectors and used those to screw the plate up into that lip. It hangs down, and you can just bend it slightly to the right angle...

thanks guys, i already spent the money for the CW eliminator. I like all the undertails but still alittle turned off by the round taillights. I'll just buy a clear lens and some LED bulbs. not looking forward to the install but oh well.

i too would have preferred an undertail, but am put off by the lights. i just don't like any of them. i've recently put on that fender eliminator kit - take your time and it's pretty easy, and i think it looks great when it's done. i also took off the little red side reflectors to make the tail uncluttered.

you should have looked harder.. they have stock style tail lights with undertails... look at hyperformanceparts.com they have a lot of them.. they even have LED with integrated signals in the shape of stock. I personally like the shotgun taillights...
