I have used GTX - SAE 5W-30 for a couple years...seems to work great in my '94 F2. But I am in the South where it's very hot.

Amsoil and Mobil 1 full synthetic.  They are a little bit more pricey per quart but well worth the money.  5W20 is what I use.

Are you guys using car oil? Or does castrol and mobile ect sell motorcycle blends also? Always heard car oil was terrible for the clutch.

You can use a car oil as long as its not labeled as Energy Conserving.  Its the energy conserving oils that are bad for wet clutches.

I've used Mobil1 15W50 synthetic auto oil in my F3 for 78k miles and in my current bike which will be at 20k soon.

i use mobile 1 or anything i can get my hands on that's non-energy conserving...regardless of car or bike specific. 40K...bike is still a performer...either that or my 92.7 HP is just faster than other bikes.

I've been using 10w030 for years on anything made in Japan, but I use 20w-50 in my BMW's...  Yes, car oil, no "energy efficiency" crap...

blkpitbull - Great Post...I checked out that Mobil One link. They have a great FAQ there on the differences between motorcycle oils and car oils...I never knew.

Seems they can put in aadditives to motorcycle that make it a better preservative and longer lasting that they cannot put in car oil because of emissions regulations. So theoretically you would be better of with motorcycle oil in a car than car oil in a motorcycle...ignoring all other factors.

I am sold...this spring I am going with the 4T Mobil One Synthetic...if I can find it!!!

edwardtn, thanks, a little hint, you can get Mobil 1 4T 10w40 at............................walmart.  Yes at walmart.  They actually (the one here anyways) have a little "motorcycle" area near the automotive section.  Ours have a few helmets, gloves, glasses, and Mobil 1 motorcycle oil.  So look for it there if you can.
