just got my new Oregon Scientific ATC-2K "helmet" camera (click here)
I've been researching for a while and wanted something small and self-contained so I could mount it anywhere on my bikes quickly.  I found this one on Amazon for a pretty good price plus they have a good deal on SD memory cards  (which will hold about 1hr each) so i decided to go for it!  I'm hoping to go for a quick ride with it tomorrow just to see how well it works, if I do I'll post up the video tomorrow night.

So far it looks to be a good little camera for the price, the video isn't great but its good enough for what I want to do with it.  It uses 2 AA batteries but I don't expect them to last very long.  I will most likely end up wiring it to the bike somehow.  If it works out well, I'll probably get another one for some different angles and all that.

I'll post up a full review with plenty of videos after the first race weekend at Talladega (Feb 9-11)

here's a couple pics (case was not included):

Yeah... would love to see a sample vid from it.    Been trying to decide what to get myself.

Looks kinda big though...  hard to tell for sure but using the SD cards as reference, looks bulky.

Let us know where you mount it and all the pros and cons.  Thanks!

its about 4 1/2" long and 1 3/4" in diameter
its actually pretty small, considering its got to have room for 2 batteries in there

I had one but returned it. It was close to being a winner, and you might find it acceptable. I liked the fact that it's self contained but the video quality just wasn't there for me.

Yeah!  I think the vid quality is acceptable, no doubt.

Not sure where you have it mounted, but have you tried other locations?  Seems a bit jumpy and bouncy and that was just around your driveway.

I'm sure it will take some trial and error.  Keep it up and let us know what you find that works best for you.
