will the USA ever see a CBR500, possibly an RR model for sale as a production machine? I'd like to have one if it ever does become available. gotta look like the 600's though, no half fairing crap.

I'd say no. In a country where bigger is better, smaller sick bikes usally don't come here.
People that should be riding 250 or even 125 are buying 1Ks for there first bike. Not saying all those who ride as their first bike 1Ks can't "ride" them, some just shouldn't. Ride a NSR 125 and in all seriuosness it will put a smile on your face from ear to ear.

cbr400 you mean....?  it will likely never be brought here by honda's doing.  "grey imports" are hardner now than ever to get into the US, even for racing use only.  I have crossed paths with an RVF400 on the track, but never the cbr400.  If you make some friends in canada, you might be able to "get one"...but licensing it would be another matter.

The CB1 was its american sister....made ~43hp stock, and ~52 with a pipe (I had one for CCS lightweight racing, before the SV650 came out)....sweet handling bike, but slow...a stock fzr400 made more Hp....though Japan 400's were all nasty little rockets, making around 60hp - all the manufactures agreed to a supposed 63hp limit in Japan.
