Here's my reply from another post furthur down on this board about lowering: DO NOT lower the bike. Lowering a bike is one of the worst things you can do. It changes the handeling, geometry, and lean angle of the bike. Honda designed them to perform at a specific height. When you change that height, you alter the bike. Most AMA and professional racers raise the bike back up for better handeling. That being said, you can lower it other ways. Pick up an extra seat off ebay and shave the foam down. Why are you wanting to lower the bike? If it's for looks, then don't. You don't want to sacrafice performance, safety, and handeling for looks. Is it because you can't stand flat foot when stopping? Then shave the seat, get boots with bigger soul's. Learn how to stop and use one foot flat. Have you taken the MSF course yet? From the questions you are asking this sounds like your first bike. The 900 is a wicked fast bike to learn on with no experience.
