If I remember, my '99 F4 is at around 13K.  She's in the garage and its too cold to look right now, sorry.  Bought her with 3800 miles two seasons ago and just lost track of the miles!

I have about 21K on mine.  Bought it early last season and did some work on her.  Runs great with no problems.  These bikes will last a while as long as you keep on the maintance and don't ride the crap out of them....well all the time

I'll say this...I've torn down f2/3 and zx motors with 45K, and or lots of track time and what not....and the condition of them is impressive.  I would put a bet on any sport bike motor to last 60-75K in street use if well maintained....and the rest of the bike should as well.  More "worn out" stuff you see is like fuel or coolant lines, or mounts for screws in the frame or whatever...

Other little stuff might go bad or wear out along the way...wheel bearings, chain, battery, clutch and brake pads, fork seals or what not...but some simple tools and with a little help or a manual the average guy can usually replace this stuff him/her self.

Purchased my '99 F4 new and have a little over 13k miles.  Zero problems.  While I drool over newer bikes, I just can't let my F4 go.

I used to have a 2001 F4(FY) that I bought new. I traded her in 2 1/2 years later with 31k miles on the clock for my RR. Motors are tough as you like with basic maintenance.

Cool, thanks guys.  I ride a Kawi ZX9R and ive seen some of them go for 80,000.  I thought that was impresive and i guess its all about how you ride them.  I am now in the process of finding a 600 for the wife.  so if anyone knows of a decint bike we dont want to spend over 3,000.  around Nebraska is cool too.

I bought my F4 last season at 8k, it has 10 now, and shes locked up for winter.  People say 20k is a lot for sportbikes, but i have a feeling this baby will run well for a long time.

+1 to warpkor, the new bikes are hot, but i know my F4 so well now that it would be hard for me to give her up yet.  Plus, there are still so many things to mod!

Wow, dont take this as an insult, but GET OUT AND RIDE MORE PEOPLE............I see those milage's around 10 or so......I do that in a season.  GET OUT AND RIDE, SCREW WORKS......lol  I bought mine with 10k 2 years ago, I have 21k on it now.......lol  My bike has been to myrtle Beach, OBX NC, (a few times), NJ to PA countless numbers...and alot of local.  I have had my engine worked over, but nothing that really needed to be done, so as long as you take care of it, it will last forever.......Change the oil, and warm it up before you ride it.

I second that, too many bikes are bought and stored, never being ridden. Im not saying thrash them, but some of these bikes have next to no miles on. I do at least 10k a year on mine.

I have mentioned in another post about a mate of mine who owns an F4, and has 350,000+k miles on his bike. Now thats endurance!!

I've had three different F4's. I had 62k on my last one.

I had a CBR1100XX I rode 31k miles in one year - had 52k total.

When you talk about high mileage on a bike it is because soo many people are fair weather riders. I understand that because of snow and conditions like that you can't always get ou, but there are the people who never take thier bikes out if it drops below 75 degrees.
With that being said high mileage on some bikes is around 30000 while others are 75000 and beyond. You can get tons of miles on your bike as long as you do the MAINTENANCE.
I am a mechaninc and I deal with this all the time. Wether on a bike or in a car people have this dream that all they have to do is put gas in it and go. If you want to keep your kid alive you take them to the doctor for regular visits don't you? Why wouldn't you do that with your bike. To me my bike is my baby.
Do the damn maintenance people. If you are local to me and don't know how, drop me a lin. I love working on bikes and would be more than happy to do it, if it will keep one more rider on the road.
