Does that bike have the dipstick or oil sight window?? Either way you need to have the bike upright ( rear wheel stand) and the window will have to marks on the outside of the glass, 1 is the lower mark and the other the high mark...somewhere in there
The other LAME Honda dipstick method is the same as far keeping the bike upright, but then you pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, insert it back in the hole ( DO NOT SCREW IT BACK IN) and then pull it out and check it, just like a car...

There is no dipstick and I cannot find the oil window. Maybe I'm stupid?

98 has a window that you look through for the oil level. My 95 has the dipstick. I'm at work now, but if nobody has given you clarification as to where specifically the window is by the time I get home i'll look in my haynes manual and let you know. Chances are yours is probably dirty. It is on the right side of the bike, down around the bottom. It's a small clear circular window.

The oil window is located on the right side of the motor, forward of the clutch cover towards the bottom of the motor...the dipstick ( if that is what it has) is attached to the oil filler cap...if you twist it off the cap and it is just a cap...then you have a window. I hope this helps you. Didn't you get a owners manual???

No I didn't get an owners manual, I only looked at it for a few minutes and the bike is DIRTY! I will check it out when I get off work. I bought the bike as a theft recovery so I thought that maybe they replaced the oil cap or something. I really appreciate the help.

Thank you
