I had the same problem, if your bike's been sitting for a while its probabally your battery. You may want to get a battery tender or new battery.

I live in cold ass michigan. I put my bike away a couple months ago. I just removed the battery and kept it in a warm dry place. Today I got my bike out, put some gas and my battery in and fired right up, didnt even turn ove for more than 3 seconds!! Gotta love Honda

Yeah I had problems before . I had my battery fully charged and the bike wouldnt start. I hooked up my car batt to it and fried my starter( happend 2 yrs ago)Lesson learned. But now when its cold out I dont even bother trying to start it up. I just remove the batt and wait till its warm enough outside to start it up.

i cant believe that you have to learn that lesson the hard way. my bike been standing and chilling  for 2 months now. the battery is at home. waiting till its at least a constant 50F before i back that thing back into place.
i love starting up the bike after like a month or two that it has been off and you see this crazy white smoke come out for a minute.

Well, is a common mistake if its a first bike for people to make. If you think about it, they are both 12v systems. ITs just the output the differs
