I need to have a "whole" opion on the correct break in of my new REPSOL. I have heard so many different ideas and was wondering what the corrrect guidelines are. My manual says 300 miles at varied RPMs. Some people say take it real easy for a 1000 and then some say "ler er rip" after 500. Any feedback will help, this is my new baby and I want her to be taken care of. Also, when should I do my first oil change.

Vary your RPM for the first 500 miles. Your first oil change should be at or before 600 miles. I changed mine at 250 then 575 just for my own piece of mind. Just make sure you vary your RPM's while running the bike down the road. Not rocket science but it is important you follow these guidelines. Other than that, Congratulations on buying the best bike in history and enjoy it. Repsol's are quickly becoming expensive everywhere due to high demand and low production #'s. Treat it well!!!!!

Thanks RR. I will treat it well. I got mine at a steal for $11,499 at Hillsboro Honda here in Oregon state brand new. The last 330 miles have been some of the best riding I can remember, even though I havn't been able to really open it up. It's amazing how this bike rides versus my old 929.
