Well, at least going to a dealer who has what you want means you found the bike. The individual who has what you want my have history, not only on the bike, but himself as well. Not defending dealers, but they are in the business of motorcycles. If there is a problem with the bike, most will be reasonable to make it right. The individual is not going to help you out, only thing you will get is a "caveat emptor" statement. What you hear from an individual "may" be entirely bogus. All he wants is your money. He knows you are not going to come back again and buy more acc. or tell your friends to go to him and buy anything, he has got nothing else to sell. When buying anything, buy the product, not just where it is from. Any astute buyer who comes educated on what he is looking to buy doesn't get cheated, except by himself. Look for abvious places of damage, listen for abnormal sounds, smell for the oders of burning oil, coolant, etc. Then look for repaint, scared screws and bolts. Does the rest of the bike match the mileage? Sun fade, worn tires, worn rubber on foot pegs, bar ends, worn chain and sprocket? Do your homework and buy it where ever you find it, if it meets your standards. Welcome........... have a nice day.........
