Hey everyone, I am looking at getting a new sportbike and have looked at all of them.  I am interested in a yamaha r6S.  I sat on all of them and that one is 1500 less than the other 600 bikes.  Anyone riden a r6S before?  let me know what you think of the bike.  thanks

You might want to check out the R1forum.com or R6forum.com

All my friends have them because you can compensate good rider with more horsepower.
I like all 600 class bikes, from gixxer to yamaha but i love my honda. all 600s are good bikes.

I think the R6S is the just a brand new version from the 04/05 model. I'm pretty familar with it and it's a good handling bike, good brakes and IMO has a slightly narrower powerband compared to the 6RR. I would not recommend this as your first bike. I think the F4I would be more user friendly and might even steer you away from that too. But that's why you're here so I guess take from this what you want and good luck with whatever you decide.

the R6s is basically an R6 for the rider who will not be taking the bike to the track. It's not as aggressive, it's heavier, and the engine is not tweeked like that of an R6. My buddy just got one and it was a great ride.

Yea i have been researching both bikes for a while now and I like them both.  I think they are both comfortable when I sit on them so Im just gonna wait till I can find a nice deal on one and then get one.  I think I will be happy with whatever I choose.
