Chopaleg is absolutely right.  The OTD price at southern Honda in Chatanooga is without tax and title (which you won't have to pay if you are out of state).  But $800-$1200 added is just wrong.  My county's sales tax is 6% which works out to $504 tax.  Add $25 for a title and you get a true cost of around $9000 for the new 07 600rr.  Btw, Southern Honda charges absolutely no prep or doc fees whatsoever.  I know because I've bought a bike from them before...

eric is right on.  I bought my 06 1000RR there last March when they first came out and paid 9300 out there door.  I then had to pay Ohio's 6.75% sales tax and title fees of about $38.  I plan on going back this month to buy my wife a 2007 600RR so I can turn her 05 600RR into a dedicated track bike.  I can't wait for my daughter to turn 16 and get her on the track.  Then I will have a reason to buy another bike to add to the fleet.  LOL

Before you say  how much is mininum wage in Austarila? It's only $6.25 going on $7.25 in the next few months. It's the first time it's been raised in America in the last ten years.

ok i think it's between $15 to $20 an hour but you $ has a higher value. so the bikes are all made for the same price so why do we pay double.
plus we have these ridiculous transfer duties that we have to pay, $8 for every $200 of the purchase price plus registration and compulsary insurance $450

Correct. for all the doubters, TAX, TAG, and TITLE is a state thing, not a dealer thing. My tax was 500, my tag 24, and title 35 ish.

18 to 25%????? Man I wish,,,,The average mark up on a bike is 12 to 15%... And that is at RETAIL! The cost of a 2007 CBR600RR is about $8300.00. So if you are out of state $8500.00 can be done. Keep in mind that we dealers also get a hold back of 10% every 1/4 as well. You want a CBR600RR for $8500.00??? Call me 512-868-9944, Steve.

I did say,, $800.00 to $1200.00. Every state is a little different.

Well I live in Dallas TX, and I buy alot of bikes out of state.

For most of my Honda and Suzuki deals I go here

http://www.bartlesvillecyclesports.com

There prices are no BS and no hidden charges when you get there. (no setup fees, no freight fees)

So here is the Math to get one ( 07 600RR ) in the choice of color you want.

$8299 07 600rr
$12 Doc Fee (Seems reasonable to me) most are $50 plus
$518.69 State Tax (TX) 6.25% of $8299
$76 This is the tag fee Includes the Lic. Plate and a misc. fees
$12.50 State inspection

$8918.19 Total OTD in TX with all Taxes and regs paid.

I have purchased 10 bikes in the last 14 months, and normally buy out of state and have to do the taxes myself.
I have the fees calculated to the very last penny.

Todd

Just like new stuff I guess, I ride them for around 4-5k miles and can usually sell for what I paid.

I also like doing the deal, getting the best deal possible.

A few stipulations I have when buying though, the bike must be sealed in the crate upon my arrival.

So far every dealer has honored this. Kinda nice knowing your butt is the only one that has been on there.

List of bikes that were my favorites

03 CBR1100XX
05 GL1800A it was for the GF
06 GSXR 1000
06 GSXR 600
06 FJR1300A
06 DR650SE
06 CBR1000RR
06 KTM 450EXC

If you are paying more than $9500 OTD.........you're paying too much for an 07 600RR.

They're selling them here in NM for $8300-$8500 OTD (at my dealership anyway). If they can sell them for that price.......other dealers can sell them for that price too. If you're paying more, they're trying to rip you a new one. Plus........anything higher than that is 1000RR territory pricing.

Hell, you can get an 07 1000RR for $10,600 OTD at my dealer.
