Thread digging here! It's months later and I'm hoping the dealers are out to get rid of their 07's now.. I just emailed one of the salesmen at a local Honda dealership here in town and threw a "$8300 OTD" price at him. I'll be anxiously awaiting his response tomorrow. I wonder if he'll bite or laugh!

Wow, that's what I'm hoping to pay too. No more than $8800 OTD. I realized after I asked him that 83 was too little... But I'll find out tomorrow. I'm anxious to get back out there and ride that sweet bike!

Ok I got the blue/silver/black one (It was the only one they had left) for $8800 OTD. She had three miles on her when I sat on it to ride off.... Oh yeah! Sorry it's a crappy phone pic. More later.... I'm going riding!

wow! you guys are getting some kick ass prices.. what are your tactics? i went to a dealer today, and they were telling me msrp plus tax/license. i laughed, told him that he was pretty much smokin dope if he thinks im gonna pay that for the bike, then he made a huge stretch as he called it, and said i can give you 9000 plus the tax/license. i felt insulted with those prices. did the ole walk out the stealership at that point.

Bah. After doing my research, I knew what they were getting them for, plus the fees. I also know that right now the 08's are coming, so there's a good few dealers out there who are selling the 07's for $7999. I decided on a figure in mind. Started off lowball and then told the dealer that some other dealer(s) were offering them for $8800 OTD. I told them I really wanted to buy from them tho So after two or three "I have to talk to my manager" over the phone, I had TWO local dealers willing to sell me this bike for that price OTD. WOOT. I bought it from the first one. I was out in an hour and riding home with my new bike. PLUS I had my own financing. The Honda card is running a lower APR special for 24 months. I took advantage of that, plus put some cash down.

yeah, first find out what YOU KNOW you can get it for. Then go lower than that. Expect him to laugh at the lowball but play it off like you are pretty serious about it. Then you have to hesitantly offer more to get it at what you actually planned on getting it for all along. Explain to him that "listen the '08s are coming out, I know you have to get rid of these. You have a sale right now if you take the price." Make sure you explain that the price you offer has ALL of the fees and sales tax included. Tell him you arent here to play games. I also explained to my salesman after he declined my final offer, i said "Ok well im outta here then, you ask whoever you have to ask to get this price and heres my phone #. Call me when its a go." Then I made sure to say "I might have a change of heart one of these days and just come in and buy it from a different salesman if you arent here." I said that after I had already walked out once and came back a 2nd time and made sure I came to see him. So he had a lot of his time wasted with me and it wouldve sucked for him if I went with someone else. He called me 2 mins after I walked out that time and blah blah blah "I think he might agree to the price (his boss) I have to keep working him" I knew it was a done deal right there.

Yes Manowar Vin, that's exactly the way I worked it, minus the me having to leave thing, but I was prepared just in case. The salesman didn't know I had all my gear and boots in my trunk. I did it all by phone. I emailed the salesman who sold another friend of mine a bike a couple of months earlier with the color bike I wanted (black) with a lowball offer out the door of $8300. I had $8800 in mind as the ceiling cap of what I would pay, so when I went up the day he agreed, it was a good compromise for them and perfect for me. More than fair and a killer deal. Beat.

East Bay California, I paid $9500 OTD at the beginning of October. I thought that was a great deal.

Got my '07 600RR last week for $7899 cash sale, and I handled the the title, tax and tags myself which saved some additional money. The DMV expenses were $321 for state sales tax (VA), title fees, registration fees (2 years) and a set of personalized tags. So adding it up, I was out the door on mine for $8220 total.
