Need a little advice. I am wanting to buy a new helmet. I have looked on ebay and found some real cheap. They say they are DOT approved and stuff, but what is the real difference? Will it work the same?

The two big ratings you want to make sure any helmet you look at has are the DOT rating and the Snell rating. You want a helmet that has been approved by both. Before buying anything off the internet, visit some local helmet shops and try some on. It's not as easy as seeing one you like and buying it. You really need to feel the fit and comfort of each helmet. Different manafactures have different size makes. For example in a HJC I wear an XL. However in one type of SHOEI helmet I wear a L and in another type of SHOEI helmet I wear an XXL. With KBC helmets I have to wear an XXL. Go try some helmets on for size and comfort. Once you find one that fits and the style you like, then look on ebay to see if you can find it cheaper. Also check www.helmetshop.com
