Ok so I weighed my factory bar ends and the carbon fiber ones I just bought on ebay and they are like 6 ounces off. So my question is what is the purpose of the weight on the bar ends?

To lessen vibration in the handlebars...but honestly, i have rode without weights and can't feel any difference.

i got my bike with one end missing... changed the whole set with a low end, light weight bar-ends and i can feel the vibration from the bars now, not good....

'not easy to get an oem in my case so, i'm thinking of patching weights at bar end for the moment, just to see if it will improve.

Sometimes it pays to see whats actually inside the bars aswell, these usually are left in when you remove the old bar ends. Some people i know have added extra into the actual bar and then used lightweight bar ends for effect. I.e to tidy it up.
