Personal choice methinks, but if its anything like the UK your not gonna see the 06 model in dealers till April/May so that may have a factor in whether you can wait for it.

The Repsol is a great looking bike and for that price its a steal. Honda only made the Repsol for 2005 also. Next year's 1krrs have so many improvments its unreal and also makes it a hard choice and may also cost more. They have more horses better brakes less weight, etc, etc... Good luck with your choice.

dang thats a hell of a long time for the 06's to come out. but they sound so nice too. But i really cant wait, so i think i might go and get the repsol. dude at the dealer was like yeah you better hurry in if you want this one (repsol). They just got it into the shops a few days ago. I might just go a check it out today. i am noobie to motorcycles anyway, so i might not notice any of the differences? but those new colors are nice on the 06's.

Man, 2005 Repsol is a limited production, I think they only have this special edition this year. Like I said it's a limited production, get it while you still can. I just got mine a month ago and I love it.

You should put money down to hold a 06 and get the new technology. The Repsol is nice but the 06 sounds like it is a vast improvement over 04 and 05.

If you're that new then you might want to reconsider displacement -- 1000cc's is a bit much for an experienced rider -- not a lot of forgiveness built in.

Find a used one to ride until the new models come out. Practice so that you don't screw up the 1000. You have time, give it a shot.

Yea, I also agree to getting some riding skills in place before jumping on a brand new $12-13,000 rocket. Most of these guys on this forum have many years of riding, all types of bikes and still have had mishaps but at least they have experiance enough to know how to handle a potential disaster. Do like the one guy who flew to Vegas or somewhere in that region just to go to a superbike school. They provide the bikes to learn on and you will know more and have more skills than the average street joe when you get yours.
If nothing else get the book Total Control by Lee Parks. My local library has it. I've been riding all my life and I still learned alot from that book. It definatly helped me on my cornering for when I went to the mountains. Good luck
