1994 CBR 600 F2

Mostly bought all the parts...brackets...bolts...nuts, fender eliminator kit,...and figured how to install the the tail section...using the stock bodywork side panels and stock sub-frame to raise the rear of the bike...alot...

Got the seat cowl roughly installed..

Only thing now...I don't know about the paint scheme.

Got some uranus purple from Honda  on order...but might paint the cowl red...as it would catch the flow of the stock paint job...and the little red tank protector I out on there...

Give me some ideas dudes...and dudettes

Figured out the final paint scheme for the cowl.

The pinstripe around the back of the side fairings, that surround the 600 F-2 letters....gone..

The 600 F-2 letters themselves..gone

In the little triangular places on top of the cowl...I'll match that red color and make them small..triangle diamonds...whch is in keeping woth the OEM red areas and shapes.

The rest of the cowl...uranus purple to match the rest of the machine.

Simple...but original...

This crude...and I may kind of smear those aerodynamic looking cuts into a darker red at the tips...

But the general idea is there...

This is a pic...sketched with MS Paint...not the actual part...

No...haven't even installed the eliminator kit...and only roughly fastened the cowling.

I am taking my time on this....

Probably do the painting tomorrow...on the cowling...

The kit...and the fab'd brakets and stuff are still at my dad's...may be a month before I get everything done.

My Scorpion exhaust...on backorder as well....

But hey...any progress is good I guess..

Will do....

Main thing I am going to avoid and why it will take many weekends and most of my vacation time is...

I have seen so  many mods on the internet, tail conversions, even simple license plate/fender eliminators...etc.

Out of about 1,000...maybe 2-3 actually look clean,...seamless I should say.

Mine is going to look like the bike came from the factory...not hobbled together...

I won't post a step by step progress report on this...just post pics when it's done...then give a step by step progress report...

Had to get rid of those terrible initial ideas...and pics...so deleted them.

Here are a coupla' better pics.

For anyone who ever needs to know how to install a seat cowl, and have it fit snug...as if it were made that way.

See the gap between the black seat...and the still unpainted seat cowl?

That's because you made need to trim some excess plastic away from the cowl itself.

At the very front of the cowl I need to take off some material by lightly sanding the fiberglass.

This will allow the front to sit down closer to the seat and thus the back of the cowl to come down...and cover the gap between the cowl

and seat.

(Took off the red pin-stripe and 600 F2 decal...slenderizing the rear tail section cosmetically.)

This will be done before painting of course...which I am still working on.

Got a Scorpion exhaust on order...and a rear fender eliminator kit...which I have yet to install.

This is all very pre-liminary and to lessen the boredom I'll post a new topic once everything is done.

1. Sand cowling to fit

2. Paint and then clearcoat with an airbrush the cowling and install it until snug and flush.

3. Install Scorpion exhaust.

4. Eiminator kit to remove rear 6 pound block of plastic that's holding the too large turn signals...and then it will be just a plate, two small, very small lights/signals on the same bracket as the plate.

It will look slick.

Just takes time...and when you ride what you are working on nearly everyday to work..takes a bit longer.
