Day One

Orillia - Sault Ste. Marie or too Wawa!!

3 Tanks of Gas





Day Two


Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay
700km

4 Tanks of Gas







Day Three

Thunder Bay to Ashland, WI
418km

2 Tanks of gas




Day Four

Ashland, WI to Green Bay, WI
600km

3 Tanks of Gas






Day Five

Green Bay WI to Milwuakee WI
(120 miles)
Milwuakee Ferry WI to Muskegon MI
(4 hour Ferry expect to pay $100)
Muskegon MI to Grand Rapids MI




Day Six


Grand Bend MI to Bay City MI
(Ask locals for best / scenic/ twisties Route)
Look at doing the loop following the Lake (fuel issues maybe?)
Bay City MI to Port Huron/Sarnia





Day Seven

Sarnia/Port Huron, ON to orillia, ON
Bitching good time lad's.

Wow, that looks like a great trip and I am quite interested, but our annual canoe trip usually falls around that week. We are still in the planning stages but have firmlly decided on Temagami. We may go earlier this year however, because one of the guys is expecting their first child 2nd week of  Sept. How soon would you need a commitment? Also do you guys tent it, or motel it?

We are probably going to motel it to cut down on the gear required.  pack as many guys into a dirty slimeball motel as possible hahaha

Its gonna be a sick trip though. Last year I did a route through Nothern Ontario and it was a blast.

I am very interested, I will talk to my boss and see if she is gonna not be a bitch and let me have the week off. I'm pretty sure if I ask now there will be no problem. Also gotta pick up a tank bag before then, but that will be no problem. What kind of bikes/riders(experience wise) are going so far?

Also, what kind of weather can we expect around lake superior at the end of august? snow? rain? I need to make sure I've got everything that is essential.

The weather will (should) be 20 - 30 degrees celcious. Maybe rain, just a rain suit or coat and you should be good.

Hey Syphen. I hope you have a great trip. Maybe next year for me. I just got back from Temagami to find out there are too many guys on holidays that week for my boss to let me off. My mistake, I should have booked that time sooner. Again have a great and safe time and make sure to post some pics.

Hey guys, haven't had a chance to update anyone or anything, but...

The trip went GREAT! with the minor exception of some rain on the very first day, the trip was perfect. The roads were awesome and I met alot of other riders out tripping. I left around 11am on Saturday the 25th, and was in Sault Ste. Marie by 8pm that evening (fairly relaxed pace and lots of stops.) The 2nd day I left Sault Ste. Marie around 10am and was in Thunderbay by 5 or 6 pm. This day was some of the most scenic riding I have ever done. Hwy 17 is just amazing, twisty, up and down and LOTS of views of superior. I left Thunderbay nice and early, 9am on monday morning and rode all the way through and down to Greenbay, WI for that night. Woke up the next morning and caught the ferry in Milwaukee at 12pm cst. Arrived in Muskegon, MI around 4pm est (silly time difference across the lake!!) I rode to Flint, then to Bay City. Then down through Port Huron and back into Canada. I ended up staying at a Motel in Strathroy (outside of London). I woke up Wednesday morning and rode home!!

I will post pics tomorrow! Just an AWESOME ride.
3358km on the clock and all of that in just a little over 3 and a half days riding.
