my brake lights dont work, the tail light does. i am confused, please help!

did you change the bulb yet?  Change the bulbs first and then go from there.

Did you solve this problem yet?  Try changing the bulb, or test the socket with a voltage tester or multimeter before you go messing with the wiring...the wirings pretty easy...you have three wires to each socket, a common, a + that is turned on with the key for the running light and a second + that is controlled by your brake light switches.

On my 99 F4 i believe the colors are:

Green = common
Blue/Brown = running light
Green/Yellow = brake light
