I just bought 1998 CBR 600 F3 and after cleaning the gas tank real well, I put the petcock back on and noticed it started leaking a lot. I'm gonna drill the rivets and take it apart to see what I can do to fix it, but does anyone know if any other petcocks will fit the f3? Like an F2 or F4 or something? Thanks. -Jeff

The F2 one will work but then you'd need F2 carbs. But then you could ditch the fuel pump.

Why would I need F2 carbs? Why would I need to ditch the fuel pump? Is there a compatability issue, like either a vacuum petcock or a fuel pump, but not both? I could hook the vacuum line up to the carb sync port on the leftmost cylinder, and that should open the petcock just like the F2 would, right?

F2 is a vacuum petcock. The F3 has noplace for it. I guess it may work with the fuel pump and no vac line but I'm not 100%

F2 and F4 wll "fit" onto the tank....but neither are the same. F2 you need to run a vacuum line to one of the intake ports on the cylinder head...they have plugs on them now. They make rebuild kits for petcocks...not sure if the F3 is on the list...check with Dennis Kirk. Is it the petcock housing, or where it connects to the tank. The sealing o-ring to connect it to the tank is tiny...
