zrad -> Front rotor direction question (3/16/2007 10:47:34 PM)
Why are the front rotors directional? When comparing the rotors the seem symetrical to each other. It would be impossible to tell left from right without the arrows. Why couldn't I use a left in place of a right? The reason I ask is because I have 2 good left rotors and to bad rights. Iv'e got a major case of spring fever and can't find a right side rotor anywhere. Ebay has sets on but they are going for a lot. And some of the sellers didn't even spin them on a lathe or break machine to check for trueness (I don't think "trueness" is a word but you know what I mean)

don't know what kind of bike you have, but i'm finding it hard to understand why your brake rotors are bad...

I bought a 929 from a insurance auction and I'm in the process of rebuilding it. Took a hit in the front bending right rotor among other things. I bought a set of rotors off ebay and the right was bent also. So here I sit with 2 good left rotors and 2 bad right rotors.

even still, brakes don't wear out to easilly under normal riding conditions. do you track or stunt a lot? what kind of damage do the "Bad" rotors have?

I spun them on a brake lathe and they are toast. They are out around 1/4 in the body. All I'd like to know is why they are considered directional
