ok... my problem arises from my bike being a mutt... meaning it has some 91 f2 pieces (like the frame), but mainly 97 f3 pieces.. (pretty much everything else)... i know the f2's have a helmet lock on the left passenger foot peg... but does the f3 have one?.. i'm pretty sure the pegs are off a 97.... I've been locking it to my rear seat strap, but if someone wants my helmet... all they have to do is pull really hard and that strap will snap... I've been thinking about the ones that mount where the clutch lever bolt goes through, but don't know if there any good....
any help would be great..
thanks

Yes, the F3 also should have a helmet lock on the left side passenger bracket

How can you not know about a helmet lock on your bike?

I mean, you say you pieced it together, you have a cam, carbs jetted, powerpack ECM and you've gotta run 93 octane or it just doesn't, "run right?"

Come on man - what gives?  You mean to tell me in all that work you, "overlooked," any sort of lock on your bike... I dunno

You say you know the F2's have one, meaning you'd have idea as to where to find it - then ask if the F3 had one too?  Now you say, "oh I must have an F2 peg..."  What the hell.

I call shananigans on this whole operation.

Uffitz - You'll have to get a key made for your lock, or find another peg set on eBay that comes with a key.  Keep your eyes open long enough and you might find a set that comes with pegs and ignition with a key.  Good luck, I'm in the process of getting rid of my rear pegs - the girl's gonna have to get her own bike soon.

Should be able to no problem.  Prolly cost you $50-$60.  Like I said, though, for that price, you may be able to find a set of ignition and pegs on ebay.  Hold out for a week... then go for a locksmith!  I have no patience either, haha.

Do you guys actually use the helmet locks? Looks like a really  good way to scratch the crap out of your helmet. Also my 95 has a lock just like that.

If your passenger pegs look like that its F3 parts. If they are thinner black and tubular they are f2. The f2 ones look like crap. The f3's look much much much better.

I have a 95 and they are the black ones...it must have been a mid year change but yes the silver ones look much better.  The only reason I use my lock is cause i hate carrying my helmet around when I go to class.
