After I finished the GSXR tail, I wasn't really happy with the fit of the Corbin seat I had. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to make a custom seat out of the stock seat. It is plenty thick and is easily modified.

Just pull out the staples holding on the cover. Using my Corbin as a guide for the layout of the new seat, I used an electric cutting knife, and my angle grinder with a sanding disc to smooth out the shape.

I need to add a piece in the front to make it higher, and I want to add a custom piece in the back to give it a real custom fit look. I'm going to the foam store to pick up some foam and spray adhesive.

Then the final shaping and design will begin. After it's finished I'll take it to an upolstery shop to get a nice cover.

More pics. You can see where I added foam to the front and back

Final shaping is under way. I'll be getting it covered soon.

It's out at the upholsterer, I should have it back Wednesday or Thursday.

So where's that picture at!  Looked great, I am really curious to see how it came out on the bike.

Sorry for the delay on the pics. I could have sworn I already posted them. My wife and I had a son a month ago, and I swear I would forget my brain if it wasn't in my head.

The seat turned out fantastic. I absolutely love it, and it has dramatically improved my seating position and it is much easier to stay on the bike without sliding off the back of the seat under acceleration. I have also added tank grip panels which I will also post pics of as well.

Here's the pics of the Tech Spec tank grip. I had planned on doing a write up on them as well, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Between the seat and tank grip panels, it is almost effortless staying on the bike under heavy acceleration and extreme cornering.
