The damper i was talking about for 450 $ was a hyperpro .. i'm in canada therefore ordering anything from the states would make things a little pricy .. with the currency exchange plus customs .. i got lots of stuff off Ebay but for something pricy like that it's better if i do it locally

Check out Extreme Tech Dampers at 1888fastlap.com
These are piston type but come highly recommended by the racer boys at Marietta Motor Sports, my local racer shop.  I have no personal experience with these but my experience with the shop is that they only sell the best.  They also sell Scotts.  At the very least, check out the prices.
P.S. Best tire prices i've found, near me anyway.

Scotts is the better product for street/track riding. The Scotts has a constant high speed damping that is always working for you. What this means is if you hit some crap in the road ( pot hole, retread off a truck, wood etc ) your bike will not get to out of shape for you to hopefully save. In addition to that the damper is fully adjustable through a whole different set of valving. Take some time and check out the Scotts site, if you don't quite understand what it's all about you should give them a call I really don't know about their other products at all but the dampers I do.

Scotts is mainly a dirtbike brand...goggles and etc.

I've rode w/ a scotts rotary on the dirt...it was GREAT!  Some do say, though, that the rotarys are for dirt and they'll overheat and seize...taking your steering w/ it.  Look it up, I've NEVER heard of that happening on the street, or at all first hand.  And I have used rotarys on the streets...

I can't remember which brand it is that sells the ohlins rotary damper under a diff. name, B/C Ohlins won't sell them on the street for that exact reason.

imho, both units are great-but think ahead-if it wears out, breaks, etc.,which one is the easiest to maintain, take apart, and rebuild!! just my $.02

also-if money is not a issue-i would take a real good look at a ohlin's unit
once more my $.02

The GPR has the same protection, it just has one less adjustment. The GPR will work just as well.

I have had both of those brands on previous bikes, and of the 2 i did like the scotts better "honestly". I dont like the scotts as much as my current one, but since you don't want to know, i won't tell you what it is

I got my Scotts from a guy on eBay for around 300 shipped. I love it and it has saved my ass a couple times, so it was well worth it for me. It is also very easy to adjust on the fly. I haven't ever had any other kind of dampner, so I can't make any comparisons, but I would suggest a Scotts dampner to any of my friends.

Got the Scotts in, and installed.  Dont know if I can feel the difference yet.  I guess I have to hit 125+ first.  Thanks for all your help and input.

I have never felt like I need a damper. I've been across poor quality roads and hit high speeds but never felt the need for a damper... Are you guys getting speed wobbles? I must admit I don't understand the need/desire for this part.

Funny that you said that.  Now that I have it, I cant really see the need for one either.  Could one of you guys explain to me how i should set it up, and what I should expect from it.  Its installed, and it works properly, but what should I be looking for? Will I only feel the difference only at high speeds?
