My 94 F2 was the same way...I thought..but now I can get decent roll-on wheelies which I suggest you master first. Then try using the clutch for wheelies... The first time I used the clutch, revved it up to about 8-10 grand...(dunno exactly...wasn't looking...just guessing in hindsight)...and dumped the clutch in 1st gear...I nearly went over backwards...my mx days of riding kicked in and I hit the back brake and let of the throttle. I'm not a great wheelie guy...and truth be told alot of the greatest racers of all time are not either...so....don't take wheelies as the be all and end all of your riding skill level.

Your bike will definately power wheelie in first gear. My buddy just bought an 03 RR and the first time I rode it it came right up in first gear. I weigh 190 pounds and it had no problem bringing it up. I took it to about 8000 RPM closed the throttle and opened it up. You probably need to get on the throttle harder. Keep practicing and you will get it but be safe.

the way i have learned is the same as you. it is all throttle my friend. you will find out that your letting the throttle down then waiting for the forks. dont wack off then wach on. i have a cbr 600 and all i need is 25 mph or 4-5000 rpm. go down one tooth in the front.
