were not puttin you down man, were tryin to keep you up, we just get sick of hearin noobs talk about how a 600 isnt enough when theyve never ridden anything before, the bottom line is that it takes a very long time to be at the point where a 600 is just not enough, and like someone said before unless you name is hayden, rossi, or mladen, youll probably never get to that level, i consider myself a damn good rider, and ill show you a picture of my brand new tire to prove it if ya like, and i know im no where near taking my 600 to the limits, and theres guys on this forum that would put me to shame, im probably speaking for everyone here when i say that im sick and ****ing tired of hearing people say that they need more than a 600 when they dont ride, or just suck at riding, and sick of seeing someone buy a brand new bike, or a used 1000 and winding up dead or veggie style in a hospital bed, buy a 600, learn to ride it, screw your friends, it sounds to me like theyll gethca killed if you listen to them, the best advice you could get would be buy a cheap ass bike, some killer gear, and move up when youre ready

Hmm, I never really thought so before but now that I have my 10R I can say that I really needed more than a 600.  Seriously, having that instant-on power is so much more relaxed when just cruising the streets plus I don't have to ring its neck to get jaw-dropping performance.  I haven't even crested 8k rpm yet and am loving every minute of it!

There is nothing childish about my posts, just being observant. You should go back read the threads you've started since you've been here and you'll see a trend.

i'm in no way saying that a 600 won't be enough for me. To tell you the truth i'm kinda nervous to actually get on a 600 when i get one, knowing that it'll be more than double the HP of what i've driven previously, and from everyone telling me how much power it has.  And yes your right, that one friend that told me to get a litre is a complete idiot, not even really a friend,  just someone i worked with a couple years a go, then he got fired.  I'm sure it'll take me a while to even get the bike over 5k rpm when i get it.  Sorry to be a noob though, hopefully ill knock it off shortly.

Thats what I was thinking.   There seems to be some negativity towards the 1Ks, like just cause you got a 1K your supposed to be super fast or ride the piss out of it.  Sure a 600 is all I will ever need, hell, maybe a ninja 250 for that matter, but when I got my 1K, it was at first for comfort, a tad bigger than the 600, plus I have an F2 so didn't want another 600, but in the end I'm happy.  I ride pretty conservative, I have to most of the year thanks to cold rain, but it is nice to have great performance below 5K for cruisin, and in the open, let her have it.  I enjoy riding and go at my own pace, just cause someone owns a 1K  doesn't mean they want to race at every light or stupid shit like that.  I ride My F2 and the 1k pretty much the same.

That's exactly what I was talking about.  I can just ride my 10R without having to worry what gear I'm in or wonder if I have enough power to get around that damn log truck (those from south Georgia will know what I mean).  There is usable power at any rpm and the top end rush is positively frightening.  Don't get me wrong, I love to ride the twisties and have been doing so for 10+ years so I consider myself a pretty good rider, but that doesn't mean that I am gonna try to scrape the pegs on public roads.  Honestly, for the kind of riding most people do on a day to day basis, a liter bike is just about perfect with one very big caveat.  You have to have the maturity and respect that the bike is due.  If you do, it will be a blast!

Don't worry about skillz, just hope and pray the bike can bail you out. Maturity and respect is much better than skill. Good post scrub!!!!!

+1 but i do realize theres some people out there that just like to cruise around, thats not really my gig, but i understand completly, its just irritating hearing non-riders question the performance of a new 600, which actually the new 600s are puttin down somewhere between 115-120hp, correct me if im wrong and i probably am, but the 954 was 135, the original R1 was in the low 110-120 range, so the new 600s deserve as much respect as anything else

The latest consensus is that the Triumph 675 is the best middleweight available but I hate triples and its British!  Besides, you probably wouldn't be able to find one anyway the way they have sold over here.

a few guys i know have them...great bikes...

what's wrong with the british? i mean it's not like it's french or anything...muhahahahhah.

ahahahah what's wrong with french? Est-ce que tu parles francais?? that's right! I can speak french!

Yeah, they are, they used to make parts for Suzuki, but now they branched off into their own company. I saw one of those if bike week, and it knocked like a beast. they are like $3500-$4000 for one of those new.

I like RR's the best, but the ZX6r comes in a close second.
