I was wondering how much do you guys pay for your insurance? Where do you live? How old are you? And do you have any tickets or accidents on our record? Do you have any discounts? Who is your provider?

I am 33, I live in Nebraska, I have no tickets or accidents, and I have multiple policys and multi-car discounts. I am with Farm Bureau and I pay 210.00 a year for full coverage on my 2002.

I recently got a quote for insurance, mind you I am from Toronto, Ontario... here it goes:

20, Male, No tickets or accidents, fully licensed driver, 02 f4i.....

I was getting quoted online for $12,684 canadian per year, I called my family insurance agent who also insures our house and 4 cars, was quoting me at $8650 canadian per year. Now, my father who is 55 with 0 riding experience and an M1(beginner license) can ride the exact same bike for $2630 canadian per year!?!?!

Anyways I am insure the bike in my fathers name as the primary rider and me as the secondary so my insurance is going to be about $3,500 year.

In the words of the great detective John Kimble, "stop whining".

Wow did I get ripped off, I'm 18 in OC, California, with a clean driving record, and I also pay $280 for 6 months, so $560 a year for ONLY minimum liability and uninsured motorist. How do you guys get full coverage on the bike and pay the same (or less!) than me?! I'm with State Farm...Is it because of my age or am I just doing something wrong?

Markobenin, at the age of 18 you are considerated a liability to your insurance. Proven statical numbers have shown more accidents at younger ages. Resulting in higher rates. Once you hit the age of 25 with most companys your rates drop. No accidents and NO tickets is huge. With mulitple cars, the insurance company sees you driving those and not your bike as much, resulting in lower insurance. Mulitple policys, ie. house insurance, renters insurance and the auto insurance, they reward you with a discount for doing business with them. That is how the lower rates are achieved.

Try to get discounts with them like insuring a car with them. What helped me most is if you insure yourself under your family's insurance policy.
