Ok first I feel like an absolute moron for having to ask this Q, but i have a bikelitez.com fender elim kit and the wires for the plate light are not workin. I jumped them right to the battery to check my crimp connections and they lit up. but when plugged back into the regular harness they wont come on. the question is... is there like a light sensor switch that turns the light on when it gets dark kinda like a car has for daytime running lights (i doubt this but who knows anymore), or did i blow a fuse when I attemped to soldier the wires instead of qwik crimping them. this is a 06 1000RR. I feel like a moron cuz this is so simple but it doesnt seem to like me thanks in advance for the help -Max

The plate light should come on when the key is in the on position. I would take a volt meter to the possitive and negative leads from the harness that your using and check that you have power there with the key on first. If so then it's you connection, if not then it's most likely a fuse.

Yeah I figured I blew a fuse, and it took me a while to find the fuse box, I have yet to pull the fairing and check fuse but will update the thread tomorrow night when I check it.

Ok so I did blow a fuse, so i took off the body panel and put a new one in, then put the frotn back together then plugged up my undertail it still didnt work. i was doing this on my lunch break yesterday. when the thing didnt light up I just left and went back to work. one of the mechanics here reminded me that LEDs only can go one way so when I got home i switched the terminals and it lit up. once again i feel like a moron but im glad it works -max
