My Uncle was with the L.A.P.D. and just retired about two years ago, and he has some stories to tell (1984 Olympics, Rodney King, LA-X during 911). Regardless, I am pro cop. +1 on treating them with respect. When I am on my bike, I don't even get a second look from them. I just ride according to the rules of traffic, and there is no problem. I did, however, have a cop pull me over when I was younger, and he searched my car (looking for illegal substances) to no avail. I ended up running in to him on several other occassions, and he turned out to be really cool. We even had a chuckle over the car search incident. My fifteen year old step daughter says she hates "pigs". I think it is because her tweaker dad has been in jail so much, and Tupac probably says he hates cops...so she has to hate cops, too. Duh!
