I laid down my 2004 CBR600RR. Has some pretty good rash on the left side. Damage seems to be nothing but plastic. But, it won't start. I turn on the ignition, the lights come on, the guages come on, everything like normal. But when you press start, nothing, not a sound. The lights just dim a bit. I don't know where to start. Can anybody give me some ideas?

Sounds like the tip-over switch -- think Honda calls it the bank angle relay or something like that. It shuts down the fuel pump if you go beyond a certain angle. Could also be that the side stand switch sustained damage.

Ditto on the `Bank angle sensor` or whatever there called, they have a habit of gettin stuck sometimes. Have a look in the service manual to see where it is on your bike there normally easy to get to.

it should reset after a bit. I know mine did when i crashed a few days ago. It gave nothing for a short while but then was able to turn on. Or you could do a rolling start to get the bike back on.

Should be located between the headlight and upper fairing. You'll need to remove the headlight to get at it. About fist sized.

Yes the sensor is located just behind the front fairing, below the steering damper i beleive. It's pretty tricky to get an eye on it, but it is there. Some bikes like Suzoookie (GSXR) have tip over sensors that go off if the bike becomes too vertical to the ground (i.e. Big Wheelie). CBR's have this tip over sensor as well but only cuts power when the bike's angle becomes too drastically horizontal (i.e. Laid Down). The sensor should have reset itself however. I would also look into the kick-stand switch. If you laid it down on the left side it's a very high possibiility that got damaged somehow. Good luck.

the bank angle sensor cuts off the power to the fuel pump. if it's tripped and stays tripped, you'll know because you won't hear the fuel pump buzz when you turn the ignition on and starter switch to on.

so if you don't here bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz then it's likely the sensor.
if you do, then it's likely your sidestand.

you won't be able to push start it either way.
