I jsut bought my first bike a few weeks back.... i am so happy that i didnt lsiten to the ppl saying get a 250. I am 6' 2" and pushin 250lbs so that was out of the question, i wanted to buy a brand new r6 but with the insurance on it being 3k that was out of the question, so i bought a 95 f3 (insurance $450) and i have to say that i am glad that i did. This bike has enough power to scare the hell out of me and i think that if i had an 07 race bike with a headlight (which the r6 essentially is) i wouldnt be as happy having to worry about the front end pulling up on me instead of concentrating on improving my skills and watching the cars around me.  I may not have fallen on a new bike, but i think my actual riding skills will be better in the long run starting on my 95 then going to a new bike when i get outta college

people are different and learn at different paces. the first time on a bike was the day i bought my 07 cbr600 and 1500 miles have not laid it down once. the msf class i took we rode 250s and another rider couldnt keep the bike upright if their life depended on it. the analogy double-edged sword like doncollins said makes sense in this case

hrm, missed most of this, but now its my turn.

so, you buy a bike with 4000 miles, it breaks down, and you think that justifies your stance no nub ever buying a used bike?  i bought a used 600(87-f1), with 35,000 miles on it, guess what im riding today?  guess who also has had mechanical problems?  guess where i found most of my help?

what probably happened with your bike is another nub bought it new, did not break it in properly cuz he kept telling himself, "i wanna go fast!"

question, if you had not had your road test yet, this 250 was the schools and you rode it what, in a parking lot for 2-3 days...and now you are hayden eh?

btw...where is the thread starter at?  wonder if he ever got a new ride, and if its wrecked yet?
