I can give you my 2cents. I was riding a 2000 r1, but havent ridin since 2001. So my first thought was new r1. But I talked with a buddy that gets to ride alot of other bikes(people he knows who ride). And he said get the cbr1k, I was VERY leary, only ever ridin an r1. So i took the plunge after muck debate and reading I got a new left over, black 06 cbr1k. Last friday, i have only put on about 50miles so far(Damn weather). But i tell you that the bike bike is great and im glad i didnt get any other 1k.I have a full sato on the way with a pcusb. I rode the gixxer and was not very impressed with it. Go for the cbr you wont regret it.

I own two bikes an 06 cbr600rr and an 06 gsxr600 HONDA by far is my favoriate and cough cough the Honda is faster at least it feels that way down low in rpm's the 1000 gsxr is so freaking uncomfortable compared to the gsxr 600 and my Honda. I look at the people in trafic also when we go riding and they stare at my bike not his. Also in corners we end up going around him cause he has to go slower not the bikes fault but he is not exp: I sat on his and even with corbin seat it just felt all wronng the tank feels huge and your sitting kinda like a dirt bike I don't like the 1000 gsxr at all. Fyi I like the Honda better but the 1000 Cbr to me is also a little to wide in the hips but I would get over that.

If you like low-end power as well as quality go with the honda. Who uses they're top-end in town anyways?

Hi all, Despite minus 4 degree and flurries today, I took possession of my brand new '06 CBR1000RR at the dealership today! It was sooo cold but I didn't care, I could not wait any longer!!:) The bike is awesome! Now, if warm weather could come... Pat:)

You guessed right PatK1RR. It's worth it, even without the exhaust. No more abrupt on/off throttle (around 3500 RPM's) response either. Get It!

how long do you plan on keepin it? the fixxer1000 is a hell of a track weapon. i used to work at a suzook/kawa dealership and i've seen a boatload of spun rod bearings and grenaded trannies. suzooks live fast but die young, imo. i owned an 01' 600 and an 01' 750 and i wouldn't buy another gixxer. great for the racetrack, thats about it.

Go for a riding experience at the dealer? Sorry but youll hjave to test ride used bikes. But used bikes are a reflection of the new ones. Dote ride older than say 1-2yrs. Ride your bike to the dealer and then ride one of another manufacture. I've only had my honds 2005 CBR1000RR for 8 months. I like it but i not expert to talk to. Just a normal guy

As for me, I now believe in the fit and finish of the Honda compared to the likes of the other bikes.. Sat on an 07R1 looks too much, just didnt feel right, It all depends on what fits your boat...

all I can say is I LOVE MY HONDA! I just bought an 07 on saturday and was also debateing between a gsx or a cbr but reliability was a big factor in my decision and the fact that it just looks waaay better then the other 3.
