ok this bike im looking @ is a 96 but has a 99 motor. as i understand it the 96 used a mechanicel connection to read the speedo, odometer, miles etc. the 99 uses a electrical . is it possible to still use the 96 cluster with the 99 motor. the guy says its as easy as getting the part that bolts into the housing and then plugs into the elctrical plug on the right side.

the bike is a good deal and clean title and really solid. this is the only issue with it . any help would be greatly appreciated !

and yes i did post up in the 900RR form too but no responses yet so i thought id post here incase ppl frequent here instead of there :)
