I've got a ninja , a katana, and my cbr 900. I have enjoyed my 900 more then any of the others, and I like the look of the fat tail on the cbr 900. I've heard alot of people changing the tail because of the fat look, but I think the tail stands out. Enjoy the ride.Johnny

I love my 99 900RR, I bought it new leftover.  It's never really given me any trouble, and has endured lots of high RPM abuse.  I take good care of it too though.  At 18000 you should make sure the valves have been adjusted, and cleaning and synchronizing the carbs and changing the oil wouldn't be a bad idea either.  Otherwise, about as bulleproof as spotbikes get!

Solid bikes, very torquey compared to new bikes, get a 17" front rim and you can mount even the newest tires...

Thanks guys, I heard that front 17 also helped with cornering. What oils do you prefer to run in these? I had my shop run it and they said It sounded very tight so they didnt tear into the valves ,but I dont know if I should still have'em do it anyway. What do you guys think of that dual foam filter kit that replaces the stock drop it that come with all the jets and stuff?

does the engine have a tick to it? if the bike has 18,000 on it you will probably need a valve adjustment. if you've never done it before, have the dealer do it.

i bought my 98 for $2500 w/ 11,000 on the clock. with spare everything. needed nothing but cleaned up. i love it. i laid it down and had to put all new plastic on it, but it didn't bend anything. tough ride.

I can't think of one Con to my 99 I had.  VERY nice ride.  It's a little down on power compared to new liter bikes, but a skilled rider can make up for that any day.  I had 28k on mine when I sold it.........never a problem with it.  I'm pretty sure it ran better at 26k than at 6k to be honest with you.  You wont be dissapointed.

I paid 600 for my 95 with 19xxxx on it.. It was a stunt bike but with some love and ebay this thing is DOPE. I wouldn't want another bike. This thing has been droped, smashed and I looped it, but you can't stop a tank. its still straight and starts every time. theres no other bikes that can take the abuse.
