How are you painting them?  I stuck them on a piece of cardboard so they would stand upright.  Clean, them, sand them a bit, use a good primer and them just spray with a coupla coats.  I also used a clear coat afterwards to hold the paint.  Pretty straightforward.  They may chip or scrape when you use the allen key to tighten them, but you can just touch it up with some acrylic paint or a sharpie marker.  No one's really gonna notice.

How did you go about prepping the swingarm and engine cases? What grit sandpaper did you start out with and finish with?

I believe I used 80 grit to really rough it up.  The swingarm was easier cuz it was unpainted.  The engine covers I just made sure I removed all the factory paint and it was good to go.  I cleaned up the sand bits afterwards with some paper towels and water, then wiped it down with alcohol, primed it, and painted.  Pretty easy and straightforward, just make sure you mask off everything properly so you don't get overspray.  Thin light coats to prevent paint running.

Dragonium...that is badass!  You should put that in the ride of the month contest if you haven't already.  No wonder you made fun of me, and my little F.E. inquirey.

How'd that install go? or are you still working on it?  If I was anywhere near you I'd come by and help you out with it, I like tinkering.

Thanks for asking...I am going to do it this weekend (between  kid's baseball and soccer games).  I will post up some pics somewhere or another.  Again, sweet work, bro.

Oh, man do I love that "flame" effect the reflective pin-striping gives off. I thought of doing this a while back with yellow around my black wings (photoshopped it, turned out ooogolay!) Tried it again with silver.........ehhhh. So I decided to leave it to "less is more", but yours turned out freaking incredible!

Loving the black swing-arm too. Looking to do the same thing pretty soon once I get the time and $$$. Local shop is going to powder-coat everything (cover's, swing-arm, rearsets, levers, wheels.) Just got to find the time to take it all apart.

Again, great job man. Turned out incredible.
