Woohoo!!!

Made a cold, cold ride out to see this new race track they are building about 50

miles from my home.

Even though I was the only one out there, the owner, who met me at the gate,

said I could take a few laps around the track.

The short course was the only one open today as there were about 3 good sized

dump trucks, 1 or 2 bulldozers, and alot of of unnamed work trucks, stirring up dust

on most of the circuit.

Also, one brand new, 2007..immaculate CBR 600 RR...parked on the side

of the back straight.

Still...was a blast, and this track, when it's done, will have some pretty impressive

turns, turns while changing elevation...

One section reminded me of a mini Laguna Seca corkscrew

turns 5, to 10 and 11, being the outer ring was under heavy construction )...and

luckily it, 5 to 10 area to 11, and then on the back straight,

was one of the few sections with no dust, smalll spots of gravel, etc.

Has a good straight you can et to about 95mph on.

You could go faster, but the temps outside must have frozen my brain, as

at the end of that straight was a blind 90 degree right hander...that had plenty

of dust and ravel on.

Still even with all the construction going on, the tarmac felt grippier than 90% of

the streets I ride on, day...day out.

It took me about 3 laps to remember which way to turn...but I started picking out

good lines...most of the time...hehe.

I had a freakin' blast!!!!!!!!!

LOL yeah, I gues you Texans would consider that to be elevation change  :)

Which turns are you saying are like the Corkscrew????  Looking at the maps and aerial pics, none of those turns are like the corkscrew.  The corkscrew is a very tight left and right (much tighter than anything on that course) combined with about a 80 foot elevation drop.  Its almost like going down on a roller coaster with turns.
