Hey guys,

Im looking to get a  new bike soon and the  Respol edition CBRs really caught my eye.  First, How common are these bikes and secondly how much more expensive are they than the standard cbrs.

Im looking to spend around 4-5gs is it possible to pick up one of these bikes for that much?

Wanted to welcome you to the sight!  I am not sure about the availability or cost of the Repsol replicas, but I'd check out the classified area.  I'll see you around.

If you're looking at the new ones ('07), they're not that much more than the "normal 1000RR, just the Repsol "graphics", which is only like $200 more than the "normal" 1000RR's. You might be able to get an '05 Repsol, wrecked, MAYYYBE for like $5,000, just maybe. Dealership wise, all the dealerships, at least Honda, are rated in stars, kind of like resturants and hotels...the more stars they have, the more selection they're going to have, or say a "1 star" Honda dealership can't get you a Repsol or what you're looking for, a "5 star" dealership could get you anything you want. Good luck!

Welcome!!!

As far as price, not for that unless there is problems. I just sold a 2005 Repsol with 11000 miles MINT for $9k at the dealership I work at. You wont find much for that cheap, let alone many 1000's in general

Yeah, dealerships have a "rating"...like I said, if you go to a dealer and say you want an '07 Repsol, a smaller dealership could say "Sorry, but we dont have any or can't get you one..." well call like my dealership or a bigger dealership and they could get you one. Like some dealerships didn't even get a Repsol to sell, some get 1, my dealership received 5. It's pretty cool living here in "Honda Town"...Kodiak and a few others might know this, but Honda has an R&D department here as well as the motorcycle and car plants, but they have their own R&D and use the TRC facility to test out bikes and stuff. Hell, sometimes I'll go out there to just watch the guys ride. They could easily race pro, but thats their jobs, R&D the bikes. Wouldn't that be the perfect job?! I mean, they R&D Ducs, Kawa's Gixxers, every bike that you can think of and take notes of the good and the bad and use that info when bulding the sportbikes, well, they'll send that info over to Japan and theyll build the bikes...ANYWAYS, lol...yeah, good luck again! Maybe you could find an old 1000 wrecked or maybe cheap, but highly doubt it, and then buy a Repsol graphics package?!

Ok thanks guys,  This pretty much tells me what i figured in the first place (that they are a rare bike).  I wasnt interested in a new bike yet (due to my inexperience).  Id be pretty pissed if i spent 10k and f***** up my bike.  So ill be on the look out for a used CBR in my area.

Also, im the kind of guy that gets sick of what i have if it isnt fast as hell so i dunno if i should look for a 1000 and just take it easy till i get used to it or if i should just get a 600.  How hard would it be to learn on a 1000.  And i also understand that a 600 is fast but like i said i have a car that can pick the front tires off the ground and a snowmobile that can hang the skis to 100 so i need something fast

i think a 600 will be plenty fast for you.  They are alot faster than most people think.
