Help a newbie out plz. I am new rider, just got into the airforce, and took the MSF class since the position I want requires you to know how to ride. I want to start off with a new 600, and Im thinking of either the RR or F4i. I like the F4i less agressive riding style since Im new. I really like the look of thee RR undertail exhaust though. Does any1 make an undertail exhaust conversion for the F4i?

Thanks.

P.s did a search and couldnt really find the exact answer. Im totally new to bikes all together.

well...if you're super responsible and such...F4i...i would start a newb on the RR.
even hesitant on the F4i...but the lesser of 2 evils i guess.

BUT...like i said...if you're very responsible and don't fall into any of the little voices calling out for you to 'gas it', etc...you'll be ok.

Yes, the undertail exhaust on the F4i is possible. I saw one on Ebay about a month ago. However, it's got to be expensive to do that b/c it's going to be a custom job, and not sure what impact on your resale value of the bike. I don't recall people rushing out to bid on that bike. For sane street riding purposes, the F4i is just as fast as the RR, and the riding position is more friendly to newbies. If you have to have the undertail exhaust, you can get the RR and spend about $240 on a heli-bar (moves the riding position up 1.5" and back 1") and get pretty close to the F4i position. You can also set the shock preload on the RR to a light setting and your back end won't sit so high.

when i first was looking at the f4i a year or two ago i asked and then looked into the parts required (desired) and wound up soemtihing about 2.5K. lotta money just for an undertail exhaust.
as far as a newb on a 600ss, I'll just shake my head, look the other way and say get what you want, its your life, just dont take me down with you
