Dial-up warning........LOTS of pictures here.........

Alright guys, here it is. The new "Raccoon Tail" Fender Eliminator. This is a combination of Larry's Fender Tag Bracket, Rizoma Zero LED turn signals (front and rear) and the heat shield cover (fabricated by myself.........which took forever.) Why is is called the "Raccoon Tail"?. Well, the front mask design I did is called the "Raccoon Mask", so I decided to call the rear fender a "Raccoon Tail" for continuity purposes. (plus, "Raccoon-ish" reflective decals for the fender are currently being made.)

So, I wanted my fender eliminator to address the following issues.........

1. Getting rid of the stock fender
2. Maintaining the stock exhaust, but still hiding the stock heat shield.
3. Mounting the tag.
4. Mounting Rizoma turn signals in rear.

Here is a sort of "semi-writeup" with pics and how I did it........

With the mud flap, reflector and tag light removed, you get this, the heat shield cover that has that bit sticking down. I could have left it, but I decided to take my ingenuity and make it my own design.......

Then I took a hack saw to it (with a design in mind) and went at it.........

And came up with this..........

Now for the test fitting to make sure everything fits and hides everything I want it to......

Then after a belt sander, hand sanding, and a nice coat of paint, I came up with this............

Now to install the kick-ass Rizoma Zero turn signals..........

Another test fit and adjustment for the signals, and all the freaking wiring.......

.......like I said before, FREAKING wiring. I'm really starting to hate wires at this point.......

AND NOW THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!!!!!

I ALSO SWAPPED OUT THE FRONT TURN SIGNALS TOO......

Let me know what you think. I thought it turned out GREAT for not costing a damn penny (other than the spray paint and Rizoma signals.)

Looks good... very good work on your part, but I'm not sure I like the lights.  Need to see them in person.

That's one less hassle we don't have here in NM. NO VEHICLE INSPECTION. (though, for the most part, there should be.)

Other than that......I would actually pass inspection with the exception of the signals (which are approved in Europe, but not DOT approved as of yet.) Even if I did have to get it inspected, I would just swap the Rizoma's out for some DOT ones anyway. (and yes, my tag does have a light too.)

But I will say one thing, these Rizoma's are FREAKING SWEET!!!! They are MUCH brighter than stock signals (though, they are smaller). And at night, they are VERY VERY VERY much brighter than stock. Plus, at night, the entire signal lights up, so you can see them from front/behind/side, etc.

I bought the signals from www.pjsparts.com. That dude "PJ" is one awesome guy. Very prompt and friendly e-mails, and they were shipped the same day I ordered them. I placed the order on Friday afternoon, got them on Monday afternoon. I was shocked. I've never had an online transaction go as smooth as that.

Even the running light modules I ordered from Watsen Design is STILL in processing, and I ordered those weeks ago. (they suck at "fast shipping" as they claim)

But yeah, I would highly recommend these signals. Very bright, and the build quality will blow your mind. The attention to detail is amazing, and they really are works of art when you see them first hand.

What color 07 do you have? If you have a black one, go with the polished ones. They look sick on black. Any other color, go with the black ones. (just my pennies though).

Oh, and they cost $33 bucks PER SIGNAL. (so you will need to order 4 of them.......and a pair of adapter plates.) That's still a HELL of a lot cheaper than 4 Watsens, which I still think are a little overrated (and overpriced).

Everything does look better Fox, although I'm not a fan of the signals, but you like it so that's all that matters!

Sadly, the pictures don't do them any justice. They look freaking sweet in person though. I too thought they were pretty ugly at first from pics, but then a buddy showed me his, and I've been hooked ever since.

That looks nice man. I think the signals are pretty awesome. When you fabricated that bracket did you use any of the original pieces that come on the bike stock?
