hey whats up all? just a quick question, i own a 92 f2 and i was wondering what the mpg im suppose to be getting? also im wondering if the earlier f2's come with a 3 gal tank cuz whenever i have a engine sound like its starving for fuel i almost always am putting around 2.5 gal. i go about 100 miles before i have to fill up 2.5 gal. thanks all!

I get from 40 to 50 on my '92. I get the "feeling" too about running out of fuel sooner than I expect. Don't turn the valve to reserve until the motor stalls. See if that increases your fuel tank size.

I always drive until I hit reserve, and I get about 160-200 per tank depending on driving habbits, that is about 40-50 MPG

try to find a line to fill it to everytime, i cant imagine that your getting that bad of gas mileage unless your really driving the crap out of your bike. And i wouldnt base it on just one tank take an average over several tanks to give you the big picture

Check for a fuel leak. If no leak, try shifting gears. If you're already in 6th, take the 10 tooth front sprocket off and try a 14 or 15 tooth. Or get a smaller girl to ride on the back............But seriously. 83 miles on 3 gallons is only 27mpg. On the F2 I had, I never got less than 43. Even if you were driving the crap out of it, you should still get in the high 30s.

You said something about leaving your choke on for a long time... yes i guess it would use more gas, but you really want to limit how long you leave your choke on, i think the manual says no longer than like 30sec when starting. You can easily foul your plugs using the choke too long, i know this isnt your question but just some info that might save you some time and money somewhere down the line

well.. to be exact what i do is turn on my bike with the choke on, then i let it (sometimes) rev up to like 4k then move the choke and when it revs really fast i let it @ idle which is 1300... so yea. i use premium and some of my friends say to bring it to a shop for maintanence. im not wanting to spend alot so does anyone know the average cost for a maintanence check? thanks

The only time I get around 30-35 mpg is when I am going 150mph then 50 then back to 130 then 40 then 155 then 90 then 160. lol you get the point. Carbs might just be to rich. Check the condition of your plugs and air filter.
