I've seen a case relative to this where the rider was not at fault. A friend of mine was at a red light, when the light turned green he took off and was struck by a car who ran the red light...the impact automatically severed his right leg from the knee down, the tumbles cause his left leg to splinter at the femur driving the other half of his femur into his abdomen. Well, long story short, the driver of the car was cited for "failure to yeild", "failure to follow traffic signal" and a "dui", he got out, paid his tickets and moved on. As for the rider, they saved his left leg because it wasn't totally severed, it was rather splintered and broken w/severe flesh and muscle damage, but his right leg had to be amputated just like this guy on the vid for prob the same cause, irrepairable nerve, flesh and muscle damage. He won't ride ever again. P.S. Even though you ride safe, keep an eye open for those retards, and drunks.

in a situation like this, its always a good idea to label the body parts you dont want amputated with a sharpy, lol *this leg o.k.* or, *wrong arm, doc!* the thought of losing a limb in any case is scary to say the least.
