i just bought a tube of copper gasket maker, used like nothing to make the gasket. No idea what the difference in manual to stock CCT as it's the first time I've done it. The CCT keeps the cam chian tight while the engines runs faster the engine goes the more it tightens the chain slower the engine it keeps the chain tight. After time the spring wears out and that's why we get the marble sound.

The tips i was told is warm up the engine first than remove the stock CCT and replace with the APE manual one, tighten the bolt by hand until you feel resistance than start the bike. adjust what's needed and tighten the nut.

I have read the thread and it sounds like the same problem I am having.  You recomend going with an aftermarket part?

Personally going with OEM so I won't have to deal with it for another 5yrs.

Could someone confirm the OEM part in question on this microfiche is actually #4 (tension lifter) not #3.

http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/200_0352/cam_chain/cam_chain.cfm?man=ho&groupid=5210&parent=5170

Much appreciated.

EDIT:  figured it out...it is #4.
